Warehouse Management

The Warehouse module in iProd allows the complete management of item stock levels, raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods.

It enables real-time monitoring of material availability, tracking of inbound and outbound movements, and support for production and procurement activities.

What is the Warehouse module used for?

The Warehouse module allows users to:

  • control updated item stock levels;
  • manage inbound and outbound movements;
  • track materials throughout the production process;
  • check availability before starting production;
  • support requirements planning;
  • improve inventory control and reduce stock shortages.

Warehouse Structure

The warehouse in iProd is organized by:

Items - Raw materials, components, semi-finished products, and finished goods.

Locations (if configured) - Physical or logical areas where materials are stored.

Movements - Each quantity change is recorded as a warehouse movement.

The main movement types managed are:

  • Receipt: incoming materials into the warehouse (purchase, production, return);
  • Issue: outgoing materials (production consumption, sales, scrap);
  • Transfer: movement between locations, warehouses, or subcontracting activities;
  • Inventory: alignment of physical stock with system stock records.

Each movement automatically updates the item availability.

Integration with Production

The Warehouse module is closely integrated with production in iProd.

In particular:

  • production consumption generates automatic issues;
  • materials required by the BOM affect material requirements;
  • availability is checked before production operations start;
  • shortages can trigger procurement processes.

Traceability, WIP, and Subcontracting

The Warehouse module also supports advanced management of materials throughout the production process.

Traceability

Traceability allows users to follow the path of materials throughout the entire supply chain and production cycle.

It enables users to:

  • identify the origin of materials;
  • track the use of components in finished products;
  • monitor batches or individual units (if batch management is enabled);
  • ensure complete visibility of warehouse movements.

Work in Progress (WIP)

WIP represents materials and semi-finished products that are currently within the production process but are not yet finished goods.

In iProd, WIP allows users to:

  • monitor production progress;
  • track materials already committed to production;
  • distinguish between available stock and stock in production;
  • improve production resource planning.

Subcontracting

Subcontracting management allows users to track materials and production activities assigned to external suppliers.

It enables users to:

  • send materials to subcontractors;
  • monitor quantities sent and received;
  • manage returns from external processing;
  • maintain control over stock held at external suppliers.

👉Benefits

Using the Warehouse module in iProd allows users to:

  • have accurate inventory control;
  • reduce errors in material management;
  • improve production planning;
  • optimize procurement activities;
  • increase material flow traceability;
  • manage WIP and external processing activities in a structured way.
